We had a wine club pick-up at Michael David, so we headed out to the main tasting room. While they have a tasting room downtown (the Cellar Door), you can only pick up your wine club wines at the main tasting room. We got to the winery and noticed that the parking lot was packed. There must be a reason–yes, they had their annual 50% off sale going! Which, if we had read our e-mails, we would have known about. But, not to worry, perhaps we need wine 😊.

As usual, the tasting room was very busy. Luckily, it was Friday and the secondary room was open–it is only open Friday through Sunday. The secondary tasting room was opened about a year ago. It is large, with seating around the room, a cozy fireplace, and a large curved bar.

It is very tastefully decorated. Bobby loves the symmetry of the room, with its two floor to ceiling wine cabinets.

Our Tasting Room Associates were Serina and Marissa. Serina greeted us with a smile and that smile never left her face the whole time we were there, even with the craziness of the sale. Marissa stepped in when Serina was busy with someone else and poured some of our tastings, giving us a nice description of each wine she poured.

The tasting menu includes 2 whites and 7 reds. For a $10 tasting fee, you get your choice of 5 wines to taste and the glass. This is one of the few wineries where the tasting fee is not waived with the purchase of a bottle, but, hey, you do get to keep the glass.

Michael David has a beautiful outdoor area. There are fountains, gardens, seating areas, and even bocce ball courts.

When the weather is nice, they have concerts, pick-up parties, and other events. The outdoor bistro is open between March and November on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. They also have a café in the main tasting room that is open daily for breakfast and lunch. We have yet to try it, but we will!
