Friday’s second tasting was at Hawk’s Landing Wine Cellars in downtown Lodi. Hawk’s Landing is right on School Street. They are a relatively new addition to the downtown tasting rooms, opening this past August.

Kristina was our Tasting Room Associate. She set us up with a couple of tastings. Their tasting list includes 3 whites, a rose’, and 4 reds. The tasting fee is $10 for 6 tastes.

It is a large tasting room, with a long L-shaped bar and several tables. There is also seating outside, when the weather permits.

I especially loved the collage of photos covering a large part of one wall. Cool chandeliers made out of the metal bands from wine barrels provide a nice touch.

We met a great couple from the Bay area, Clyde and Pam. The discussion started with a conversation about parking downtown and “Rita”, the meter maid that was stalking their car 😊. Clyde was calling her “Rita”, after the Rita in the Beatles song, Lovely Rita (yes, I had to look it up as I did not know that song, which amazed Bobby). They were keeping a close eye on the clock to make sure “Rita” did not get the last laugh.
Hawk’s Landing has live bands on Friday and Saturday nights, making it another good option if you want some place to go in the evening.
